Panappayatt is a type of money transaction, which was popular in many arias in and around Thalassery. But among the new generation it is very strange, though the Panappayatt did not fully wiped out from our society.
The Panappayatt is conducting by a person, who met the scarcity of money or when he need money or to get his money back which was paid to others on occasions of Panappayatt. To solve his money problems he forced to conduct one Payatt. Through the Payatt he trying to get the money in the form of credit.
When a person decided to conduct Panappayatt first of all he delivered letters to the notable members of society to inform them about his Panappayatt. Usually the letter prepared on the Inland letter, in blue and white colour, which specify the venue, date, time and day of Panappayatt and also specify the name of person organized the Panappayatt. If the letter is posted through post office it will specify the name and address of the persons. The letter will be send to the person who were liable to him in the society and also other notable members. Liable persons are those who conducted Panappayatt in early time. The participants specified date and time which a Panappayatt decided to conduct ,in that day all the persons who get the letter, they reached to the venue , where the Panappayatt is take place.This money transaction will be remarking clearly and carefully by the respected personalities or justice and also by educated personalities.they are held responsibilities of the Panappayatt.

In the day of Panappayatt people are reach to its venue,usually in the home of the person who conducting the programme and also they pay the money. In Malayalam the word" Payattuka" means payment of the money in Panappayatt . in that day the owner or the conductor will be arrange a tea party to the guests . They paying an extra amont than the amont which they have actually liable. For example A&B  are two persons who are the members of Panappayatt. If A decided to conduct a Panappayatt  in the day in which the Panappayatt had taken place, B pays the amount of Rs 100 .Like that when B conduct such Panappayatt A want to repay RS 150 to B (His liability + Extra money) by the cause of time it will change to 200,300,etc.The extra money which are repayed is not considered as interest it means a help to other(50, which is repayed by A to B inspite of 100, actual amount i.e Liability +Help).
